Paris Hilton is available for your dating pleasure!

As a public service to all singles, I thought I’d let you know that Paris Hilton has broken up with her latest boyfriend what’s his name. I’m not sure how what’s his name is doing but it’s safe to say that he’s worse off for a number of different reasons many of them medical…but I digress.

Paris of course is far better off according to her family. Her Aunt and her mom have all weighed in to say what a loser the poor guy was and how better life will be for Paris now that she can go dating again.

Paris’s family was adamant that Paris needs to be dating someone that can live in her large shadow and stay back while Paris takes in the spotlight. She casts a huge shadow and her lifestyle is not for the faint of heart no doubt.

My question is how many men in Hollywood and the circles that Hilton travels in could stay in her shadow?

A Chicago Tribune editorial caught my eye when I saw that it was about tanning of all things. Given the turmoil in the world and the Presidential race, you might think it silly or frivolous to write about something so vain.

I suppose that was the point of the editorial. The author questioned why anyone would go to such lengths to look lazy and stupid. While I don’t necessarily agree with this, I do see her point. I associate tanning with the likes of George Hamilton and Paris Hilton. Can you think of anything else when it comes to tanning?

My first memories of “tanning” were not good. I was four and my mother dressed me in a tank top. After several hours in the sun, I came back to my mother in the worst pain I had ever felt. The water blisters on my shoulder looked like they came form a different world. They wouldn’t go away until summer’s end. Needless to say, I have never been a fan of the tan since that day. Anybody who is a fan, is always somewhat suspect to me.

Hilton’s latest TV commercial was fun and entertaining but the joke was based on her reading about tanning before she thought about running for President.

Evolutionary psychologists are also puzzled as to why women like to tan given the universal preference of men for lighter skinned women. The only thing that is known is that women’s skin gets darker when they ovulate. This however is not consciously noticeable.
