It’s funny how you can find inspiration and knowledge in the strangest of places. Just the other day I was reading Victor O. Schwab’s great book “How to Write Great Advertisement” written in 1962.
Near the end of the book Schwab talks about the differences in behavior among men and women. For instance he says that men think “longer haul” and that their thoughts flow in more of a tide. Women on the other hand think in much shorter time frames and more “sharply punctuated by separate events”
Women care about the immediacy of events like dating, marriage and the resulting social standing from all these important events. Men for their part are usually no where near as concerned with these kind of events and just go with the flow.
With all this being said I think women should consider what might be on their dates mind:
- He hopes the movie will be good and that you’ll like it
- He hopes he doesn’t make a fool of himself
I bring this up because these are things that might not concern you as a woman. So while you might be thinking about “connecting, falling in love, or sizing the guy up for marriage” your date simply wants to see you smile and be happy with the night of fun he provided.
