• He talks about what he could have done differently in his youth
• He talks about how his view on life and love has changed over the years

It’s worth noting that while Mitch wishes he listened more in his early days, he now has less patience for drama. I imagine Mitch won’t won’t hang around long if the woman he’s with is “difficult”. At the same time, he wants to listen more and be more understanding of the woman he’s with.

For some men, any kind of difficulty is an excuse for them to bolt while for others, they’ll stick with you to the end.

The point Maryanne was trying to make is that you should be prepared for either guy that may come your way while dating. The love bug hits when you least suspect it and you might as well be ready to date and then marry the man of your dreams.
